US farm groups regard EU labeling proposals as 'unworkable'

(June 20, 2001 CropChoice news) The National Corn Growers Association and the US Grains Council dislike the proposals for traceability and labeling standards in the European Union.

As currently written, if a product has 1 percent or more genetic contamination, is must be labeled. Leon Corzine, of the National Corn Growers Association, regards this as unreasonable.
