India might regulate importation of transgenics

(Sept 26, 2001 CropChoice news) India likely will regulate the importation of transgenic agricultural products because of concerns about their environmental and health effects, an Indian government officials told Reuters. If regulation were to become a reality, traders would have to receive approval from the government prior to importing such products.
